First off, why does no one who doesn't own a Wii understand that the fucking controller has buttons on it? I swear to God, every single person who I've seen who hasn't played Wii thinks every game only uses motion control and point-and-click controls. Nintendo uses it's controls to their advantage at maximum capacity because they fucking designed a controller specifically for motion control. For that, they usually have at least one or two things integrated with the Wii's motion capability if not most of the game. I would like to make a few example arguments: Punch Out has an option to use just buttons rather than motion control fighting. Super Mario Galaxy uses a Wii Remote shake to make him spin, and that's all you can do with it; everything else is buttons. Same goes for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Tales of Symphonia 2 has an option to set different attacks to Wii Remote shakes, but I've never found it necessary to use since it uses buttons to play. Mario Kart Wii allows use of the Classic Controller, the Gamecube controller, or Wiimote and Nunchuck, all which have no motion capability in that context. As my final argument, I would like to point out Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This game has absolutely no motion capability and pointing at the screen does nothing. Using a Wii Remote requires it to be held sideways, and you can also use the controllers that I listed with Mario Kart Wii, none of which use motion control in this context either. Obviously, these aren't all the games that are like this.
I don't usually read game reviews for the most part, but I'll watch review videos occasionally. Especially if they contain humorous content. I occasionally go to a certain Zero Punctiation, which can be funny sometimes, but I watched the New Super Mario Bros. Wii review, and it actually pissed me off. His biggest problem with it seems to be the fact that Nintendo is over using Mario, and that all his games are the same. Let's take a look here: Mario is Nintendo's fucking icon. He has been for a very fucking long time. Not to use Mario at every opportunity would be a dumb fuck business move. Secondly, Mario's base is in sidescrollers. Mario started in sidescrollers, and he's had all kinds of sidescrollers. If you want a different game, Nintendo has other franchise games that have other genres. However, Mario also has other genres, if one would look into it. For dumb shits who don't know anything about Mario's other franchises, please look into Mario Party, Mario Kart, Mario RPGs, Super Smash Bros games (which, realistically, despite having all the franchises, is about mario, due to "bros"), mario paint, Mario tennis, charged, etc... And don't forget that there's 3D platformers that fall under platformers but aren't sidescrollers. I wouldn't doubt I was leaving anything out, either. It's too bad all his games are the same, even though they make Nintendo the brunt of the money they make in the first place. Then we've got games like Legend of Zelda, Pokemon Metroid, Kirby, WarioWare, Starfox, Donkey Kong, Phoenix Wright, Pikmin, Sonic the Hedgehog (in more Nintendo games than other consoles), Fire Emblem, F-Zero, etc etc. They've got lots. And that's just franchises, of course.
Nintendo seems to be, according to the internet etc, making a fuckton of shitty games. This is is actually incredibly based on opinion, and the people who are making these claims are not the target audience. Nintendo has always targeted children and young teens for their games. I grew up with Nintendo consoles, and I've never wanted any other consoles along the lines because I always had a lot with what I already had. Nintendo had the best fucking consoles over the years. Nintendo 64 makes this argument, and there are a LOT of people all over the fucking world who would agree. For anyone who seriously liked those games, there's no fucking reason why Nintendo's new games would be shit. Why are they making the same stuff? Well, they aren't, but for argument's sake, it's because it's making them all kinds of money, and the reason that they're making all kinds of money is because people want to play these games because they are awesome. Despite this, Nintendo's reputations seems to be slandered all over the place for the most part, but despite the 360's RROD being so frequent among them, and the "PS3 has no games" bit, everyone seems to think they're just fine. From what I understand, Nintendo's reputation might be bad because Nintendo's reputation is bad. Maybe Nintendo should make some new stu- er, stick with the class- er, idunno, but they seem to be doing perfectly fine to me.
So, it seems pretty straightforward to me, I just don't understand why Nintendo is such a target for slander and ignorance. If you ask me, people are just too fucking ignorant to see for themselves. I plan to get the next Nintendo console when it comes out under just about any circumstance, because I can't see it failing at all. Nintendo makes lots of Goddamn money because of the things that they make, and that's all it comes down to.
